Catching Up: Photos

I am now in Edinburgh, Scotland - which is pretty crazy. I did not have time to post yesterday - and I have a lot of pictures from today... so... I am just going to post those and not do much more of a narrative - except for some comments about the pictures. Ok.

This was my first ever gelato. It was delicious - way better than I was expecting and I knew it would be good - however at about $6.50... I won't be repeating that very often. Or ever... We'll see.

In a matter of minutes, we were outside the busy city and into the English countryside.

Ok. You can't really tell, but there is a dog - probably a whippet - who reminded me of my puppy back home (not a whippet but they look a lot a like). #homesick.

The North Sea. So beautiful. I was so happy to be able to see it, I can't even tell you. However, it was tricky to photograph because my seat on the train faced backwards so I couldn't see what was coming and my camera on my phone takes forever to focus before taking the picture. SO. I took several. Luckily for my photographic attempts, I had a long time on the train today.

This reminded me of home, too. Except for the North Sea in the background.

And now... to show how much of a nerd I am...

Harry Potter. This was my childhood. And, Kings Cross looked way different in my head when I read the stories. My train even left at 11 - which may not have been the time in the books, but that is what time it was in my head - so I took a picture of my watch.

This is where they shoot the BBC show "Sherlock" - or at least the outside of his flat. It was a couple of blocks from where I was staying so I took a quick detour and took a picture. I found out it was there by accident actually but since I have seen the show I thought it would be fun to see it in person.

  1. If it's any consolation... you're making me really miss England/Scotland too. But not the Haggis -- just say no! (but make sure to listen to the stories about all the little four-legged Haggis critters, running around the highland peaks counter-clockwise)??

    1. Oh dear. They only run counter clockwise? Yes I will need to hear that, and I don't think I could convince myself to try haggis... Haha

  2. You need to get a picture pushing the "trolley" through to Platform 9 and 3/4!

    1. Haha ya, I felt silly by myself and didn't really have time to wait in line... So I didn't... This time. :)
